Defence forces have struck Ozon’s logistics hub in Russia for first time: major fire has broken out. VIDEO

On the night of 22 August, the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out their first strike on the logistics hub of the Russian marketplace Ozon in Chapaevsk, in the Samara region of Russia. A massive fire is raging.

This was reported by Censor.NET, citing monitoring Telegram channels and Russian media.

According to preliminary reports, the hub was struck by drones. Following the strikes, a fire broke out on the complex’s grounds, which quickly spread over a large area. A thick plume of smoke rose above the site.

What is known about the facility?

The Ozon logistics complex in Chapaevsk covers an area of around 135,000 square metres. Its construction was estimated to have cost approximately 5 billion roubles.

The hub is one of the largest warehouse facilities in the Volga region and is used for the marketplace’s logistics operations.

Ozon is the second-largest marketplace in the Russian e-commerce market after Wildberries.
