Sttrike on Kryvyi Rih is absolute and complete cruelty. EU will strengthen sanctions against Russia, - Kallas

EU prepares new sanctions against Russia over strike on Kryvyi Rih

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, strongly condemned the Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih, which killed at least 16 people.

According to Censor.NET, this is mentioned in her post on X.

"Russia's attack on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih demonstrates the absolute and utter brutality of the war being waged by Moscow. This is deliberate terror. Russia is seeking to render Ukrainian cities uninhabitable," Callas wrote.

She stated that she had proposed the most extensive list of sanctions against Russia since the start of the war. The pressure must continue to mount until Moscow ends the war.

"EU foreign and defense ministers will discuss how to expand our support for Ukraine, particularly in the areas of air and missile defense, during a meeting to be held in Dublin in less than two weeks," Kallas said.

What happened before that?

On August 21, Russian forces struck a regular shopping center in Kryvyi Rih. The attack drones were launched in two waves.

Sixteen people were killed, and another 130 were injured.

Nine people are currently listed as missing. Sixty-three people remain in hospitals. They have shrapnel wounds, traumatic brain injuries, and burns. Twenty-nine are in "serious" condition, five of whom are children. A 16-year-old girl was transferred to a regional medical facility in Dnipro.
