Fire has broken out at Iskra factory in Lviv: three people have died and there are casualties. PHOTOS

Today, 22 August, a fire broke out in a warehouse containing aerosol cans at the ‘Iskra’ depot in Sykhiv, Lviv, resulting in fatalities and injuries.

This was announced by the mayor of Lviv, Andrii Sadovyi, according to Censor.NET.

What is known

"At the scene of the fire at a warehouse storing aerosol cans in Sykhiv, rescue workers discovered the bodies of two people who had died… My sincere condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims," said Sadovyi.

Rescue workers later discovered the body of another victim.

Thus, there are three confirmed fatalities in total.

It is also reported that the fire has been brought under control. Staff from the State Emergency Service are continuing to work at the scene.

For its part, the Lviv City Council stated that the fire broke out on the premises of the Iskra factory. It is reported that five injured workers were admitted to St Luke’s Hospital. They suffered superficial burns and are in a moderately serious condition. Medical staff are providing all necessary treatment.
