Ukraine’s ground drones complete over 100,000 frontline missions

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian troops have completed more than 100,000 logistics and evacuation missions on the front using unmanned ground vehicles. The intensity of their use is increasing almost every month.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

Use of ground drones increases

All unmanned ground vehicle missions are recorded in the DELTA combat system.

"Each of these missions potentially means Ukrainian soldiers’ lives saved," the Ministry of Defence stressed.

UGVs completed 7,511 missions in January, 7,960 in February, 9,072 in March, 11,028 in April, 14,059 in May and 16,664 in June.

The highest number of missions completed in a full month was recorded in July, at 19,969. During the first 20 days of August, ground drones completed another 15,729 missions.

Ministry of Defence increases UGV procurement

The ministry noted that the military’s need for unmanned ground vehicles continues to grow. To expand their use on the front line, the Ministry of Defence has increased procurement volumes.

Since the beginning of 2026, contracts have already been signed for more than 22,000 UGVs — almost twice as many as during all of last year.

In addition, military personnel ordered almost UAH 1.9 billion worth of unmanned ground vehicles through Brave1 Market under the e-Points programme.
