This is Ukraine's second gold at the Olympic Games in Rio.

Ukrainian Yurii Cheban wins the Olympic 200 meters rowing competition, Censor.NET reports.

This is Cheban's second Olympic gold after London saw him taking the first one back in 2012.

Cheban managed to triumph despite passing to the finals with the eighth time result in the race.

So far, the Ukrainian team has won two gold, four silver and two bronze medals. Cheban's victory takes Ukraine to the 21st position in the general team ranking.
