Budanov: Ukraine seeks end to war and just peace
Ukraine seeks an end to the war and a just peace, but achieving it requires concrete action, resilience and the unity of Ukrainian society.
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President, said this on his Telegram channel on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, Censor.NET reports.
"Ukraine, more than anyone else, seeks peace, a just peace. We speak about it constantly at international meetings, at every venue and in every dialogue with our partners," Budanov noted.
At the same time, he said, a just peace cannot result from diplomatic statements alone. It must be secured through practical steps and Ukraine’s ability to defend its own interests.
"The reality is that a just peace does not fall from the sky. It is fought for and secured through concrete action, strength, cold pragmatism, unwavering resilience and the unity of Ukrainians," the head of the Office of the President stressed.
Budanov also emphasized that Ukraine understands the price of peace all too well and cannot compromise on security and independence.
"We know its true price all too well. There is no alternative to security and independence, just as there is no alternative to accountability for those who brought this war to our land," he concluded.
Earlier, the head of the Office of the President stressed that Ukraine would continue putting pressure on Russia to force it to end the war.
