President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where participants discussed electronic warfare capabilities for protecting infrastructure, new sanctions packages, and supplies of long-range drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for next year.

He announced this on social media, Censor.NET reports.

The role of electronic warfare in defense against "Shaheds"

According to the president, this component of defense accounts for a significant share of the Russian "Shaheds" neutralized. Additional tasks were assigned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and manufacturers — the most effective approaches will be scaled up.

New sanctions packages

The meeting also heard a report from Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) on Russia's technological priorities for this year and next, and on supplies to Russia of critical components and equipment for weapons production.

Based on the report, new Ukrainian sanctions packages will be prepared, and DIU will submit proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Security and Defense Council. Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is also working to have its sanctions mirrored in partner jurisdictions.

Long-range drones for next year

  • The Staff meeting also set the main tasks for supplying Ukrainian forces with long-range drones for next year.

"The main criterion is that we must be able to respond in kind to Russian strikes," the president stressed.
