Shelter for 29 people: passenger safety strengthened at railway stations in Kyiv region. VIDEO
Modular shelters are being installed at railway stations in the Kyiv region to protect passengers and staff from Russian attacks. The first such shelter was visited at the station in Hlevakha. It can accommodate 29 people.
Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko announced this, Censor.NET reports.
"We are beginning to install modular shelters at passenger stations in the Kyiv region. Today, I visited one such facility at the railway station in Hlevakha," he wrote.
Modular shelter
The modular shelter serves as a temporary protective structure for the safety of passengers and station staff. It is certified and meets the necessary requirements. The facility can accommodate 29 people.
Thanks to their rapid deployment and modular design, these shelters can be installed quickly. These facilities are an immediate measure to improve rail transport safety where permanent protective structures are in short supply. This is particularly important when the enemy attacks railway infrastructure.
Installation of similar shelters is also underway on railway platforms in Vyshneve and Brovary. They will be ready soon.
Together with Ukrzaliznytsia and the region’s communities, we are working to expand this project, as there is significant demand for protective structures at a number of other railway terminals and stations.
