Strike on Kharkiv: three bodies have been found under rubble of building (updated). PHOTOS

Rescue workers have found a body under the rubble of a collapsed building in Kharkiv. The search and rescue operation is ongoing.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the mayor, Ihor Terekhov.

"A body has been found beneath the rubble of a building in the Kholodnohirskyi district – the search and rescue operation is ongoing," the statement reads.

Update

Another body was found under the rubble of the same building, and there is a possibility that another person is still trapped beneath it, Terekhov said later.

What led up to this?

On the evening of 12 October, Russian invaders attacked Kharkiv with ‘Banderol’ missiles. Residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the Kholodnohirskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the city were hit.

One of the missiles struck a four-storey residential block, completely destroying the entrance hall. People may be trapped under the rubble. Fire-fighting and emergency rescue operations are ongoing.

Eleven people were injured as a result of the massive enemy attack; three others were rescued.

"The body of a third person has been found," Terekhov reported at 6:56 a.m.
