Russia’s ballistic strike on Kyiv came once again without warning from partners; target was CHPP No. 4, – Zelenskyy

Russian forces have attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles for the second time in 24 hours, and our partners have once again failed to warn of the threat. The main target was an energy facility – CHPP No. 4 – which was hit.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Censor.NET.
What is known about the strike
According to the head of state, the Ukrainian defence system detected the missiles almost as they were approaching Kyiv. In addition to CHPP-4, which is one of the city’s main energy facilities, a residential building was damaged. Rescue workers are currently extinguishing a fire there.
"A Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. Once again, without warning from our partners. The main target was the energy sector, specifically CHPP No. 4. Unfortunately, there were hits," Zelenskyy wrote.
Russia is preparing new launches
Zelenskyy also reported that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russians are preparing new ballistic missile launches. He emphasised that the facts show that Moscow does not consider it necessary to comply with what the US President had said.
"Ukraine supported the cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure. Russia is targeting yet another power station and the lives of our people," he emphasised.
The President called it unjust that Russia is destroying Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, whilst Ukraine does not even receive warnings about ballistic missile launches. He called on the world not to remain silent about this, and on America to recognise what is happening and who is to blame for the war continuing.
Zelenskyy asked Ukrainians to stay safe tonight and tomorrow, adding that the authorities are working to provide air defence systems with anti-missile capabilities.
- As a reminder, loud explosions were heard in Kyiv on the evening of 13 October. Russia launched ballistic missiles.
- Alerts about the missile threat reached users either just before or during the explosions in the capital. A 9-storey residential block in the Desnianskyi district was hit, causing a fire.
