Unknown assailant shot dead five Ukrainian soldiers in Kharkiv region: police are searching for attacker
The day before, an unknown assailant shot and killed five Ukrainian soldiers in the Kharkiv region.
This information was confirmed to Censor.NET by the head of the National Police’s communications department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Viktoria Ponomariova.
What are the police saying?
The police have confirmed the tragedy and opened a criminal investigation under the section of the Criminal Code relating to murder.
"Yes, indeed, yesterday in the Kharkiv region an unknown person opened fire with an automatic weapon and killed five servicemen. The details of this incident have now been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," said the police spokesperson.
According to her, efforts are currently underway to identify the person who may be involved in the crime.
No further information is currently available regarding the murder of the soldiers in the Kharkiv region.
