It is in France’s interest to continue supporting Ukraine, - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that cooperation with Ukraine offers benefits for France. In particular, the combat experience of Ukrainian military personnel could be useful to French defense companies.
According to Censor.NET, he made this statement in an interview with the Financial Times.
Zelenskyy highlighted the political risks for Ukraine in connection with elections in European countries. According to him, elections will be held in a number of countries over the next 12 months, in which pro-Russian parties could strengthen their positions. This, Zelenskyy noted, could create additional challenges for Ukraine.
Journalists asked the head of state about Marine Le Pen's statement regarding the cessation of funding for Ukraine.
In response, Zelenskyy emphasized that France is also interested in continuing its cooperation with Ukraine.
"France has a lot to lose," the president said.
According to him, the experience gained by Ukrainian military personnel during the war is important to French defense companies.
"It's a win-win situation," Zelenskyy added.
What led up to this?
French far-right politician Marine Le Pen stated that, if elected president of France, she would halt bilateral financial aid to Ukraine, with the exception of certain forms of military support. She also cast doubt on continued European Union funding for Kyiv and spoke out against Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
