Unilateral energy truce would have negative consequences, - Nausėda

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda considers it unacceptable for Ukraine to cease its strikes on Russian energy facilities if Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure at the same time. He emphasized that a ceasefire must be mutual.
According to Censor.NET, citing "European Truth," he made this statement before the start of the EU summit.
According to the Lithuanian president, a cessation of Ukrainian attacks at the request of the United States—without similar commitments from Russia—would have significant negative consequences.
"A ceasefire is a two-way process. There is no such thing as a unilateral ceasefire, because if Ukraine stops attacking Russian energy infrastructure while Russia has complete freedom of action and continues its attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector, this will lead to the complete collapse of the war. I don’t understand how one can talk about a ceasefire while imposing demands and conditions on only one side," Nauseda explained.
He also called for taking the Kremlin’s strategic goals into account. According to the Lithuanian president, Russia seeks not only to seize Ukrainian territories but also to challenge the Western way of life.
"It would be naive to expect that they want to conquer more territory. Russia's goal is to challenge the Western way of life," the Lithuanian leader added.
