Ukraine’s strikes on Russian oil refineries are bringing end of war closer, - Kallas

Kallas called for increased pressure on Russia and supported strikes on oil refineries

EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas expressed support for the resumption of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries. According to her, limiting Russia’s oil revenues will help deprive it of funds for the war.

According to Censor.NET, citing European Truth, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy made this statement before the start of the EU summit.

Callas emphasized that the aggressor state’s oil revenues must be curtailed, and Ukraine is pursuing precisely this goal when it carries out strikes against Russian oil refining facilities.

"Most of the funds Russia allocates for the war come from oil revenues. So Ukraine clearly wants this war to end. After all, as you understand, cutting off funding for the war is the only way to achieve that," she said.

Pressure on Russia must be stepped up

Callas also stated that pressure on Russia must be increased. She also criticized calls to pressure Ukraine into making concessions.

"We believe that to end this war, pressure must be put on Russia—not on Ukraine—to force it to surrender. We are showing firm resolve on this issue," she said.
