It is easier for me to deal with Trump than with Putin – Zelenskyy. VIDEO

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was defending Ukraine's interests in relations with Donald Trump and stressed that Ukraine had a lawful right to defend itself against Russian aggression.

He made the remarks to journalists during a briefing, Censor.NET reports.

What is known?

Zelenskyy was quoted as responding to Trump's remark that he was harder to deal with than Putin.

"Am I harder to deal with than Putin? Well, he (Trump - Ed.) is easier to deal with than Putin. For me, dealing with Trump. I have had several meetings with the US president. And we always find topics to discuss and make decisions on," the president replied.

He said he was defending the interests of Ukraine and its people.

"We were attacked, our territory was occupied, our people were killed. It is logical that we have the right to defend ourselves. And however much Russia may want to restrict all our rights, it is clear that we have the right to defend ourselves. This is entirely lawful. So we will do this; we will stand firm," the head of state added.

However, the priority is to end the war.

"Putin does not want negotiations now. In any format. He is playing word games, saying that they are responding. This looks like a parody of a real desire to end the war. He does not want to end the war. That is why even Donbas is not enough for him," Zelenskyy added.
