Russian losses in October reached a record 49,000 personnel

As of October 29, 2026, the Russian army’s combat casualties among its personnel for the month totaled 49,040. This is the highest monthly figure since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

According to Censor.NET, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports this.

"There are still three days left until the end of October.

"The previous highest figure was recorded back in December 2024—48,670 people," the statement said.

As of the 29th, the Russian army's average daily casualties in October 2026 are estimated at approximately 1,750.

How the Russian Army's Casualties Have Changed

According to data released by the General Staff, the trend in monthly casualties was as follows:

  • February 2026 — 26,090 people;

  • September 2026 — 46,230 people;

  • October 2026—49,040 people as of October 29.

"The rate of casualties exceeds the enemy's ability to replenish its units. Every month of the war is becoming increasingly costly for the Russian Federation's army."
