Hundreds of thousands of families without power

"Following these Russian strikes, the electricity supply situation in our regions is critical. Around 200,000 families in Dnipro and the surrounding region are without electricity. A further 80,000 families in the Kyiv region are also without power. Repair crews are working to clear up the damage caused by the strikes and are doing everything they can to restore the electricity supply," added Zelenskyy.

An appeal to partners

"The world is witnessing how Russia is targeting civilian infrastructure on a daily basis. And anyone who does not want to see this Russian escalation spread further across Europe must help Ukraine. We need strong, concrete steps towards peace. This means sanctions against the aggressor and new support packages for Ukraine. Thank you to everyone who is helping," emphasised the head of state.

What led up to this?

Earlier reports indicated that three UAVs had struck a critical infrastructure facility in Kyiv: four districts were partially without power, and water pressure had dropped.
