Russian Federation is deliberately targeting energy facilities where repairs were nearly complete; situation is difficult, - Ministry of Energy

Due to widespread damage to the energy infrastructure, the situation remains difficult in many regions of the country, including Kyiv.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the press office of "Ukrenergo."
What is the current situation in the energy sector?
As noted, the effects of previous strikes have not yet been fully mitigated, and the power grid is already facing new attacks.
"Despite this, energy workers are doing everything they can to ensure the stable operation of the power grid. Emergency repair work is underway wherever the security situation allows."
"All parties involved are coordinating their efforts to address the consequences of the enemy's attacks. All efforts are focused on restoring the damaged equipment as quickly as possible and improving the power supply situation," explained Ukrenergo.
According to the Ministry of Energy, on the night of October 30–31, the enemy once again launched strikes against energy facilities in the Dnipro region, Kyiv, and the Kyiv region. These repeated attacks have significantly hampered restoration efforts.
The enemy is deliberately targeting energy facilities, particularly those where repair work was nearly complete. As a result, a significant number of consumers remain without power. Energy workers are continuing restoration efforts despite constant air raid alerts and a challenging security situation," the statement reads.
What led up to this?
- Earlier reports indicated that three UAVs had struck a critical infrastructure facility in Kyiv: four districts were partially without power, and water pressure dropped.
- Later, Zelenskyy reported that Russia struck thermal power plants in Kyiv and Shostka, as well as substations in the Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving nearly 280,000 families without power.
