Background
Earlier, Oleksandr Abakumov, head of NABU’s Main Detective Unit, said on an episode of "UP.Chat" that SSU General Serhii Duka had smashed two phones and a hard drive with a hammer. According to him, this happened while NABU detectives were trying to enter the general’s house.
- One of the allegations in NABU’s notice of suspicion against SSU General Duka concerns an attempt to help the organizers of the Khimprom drug cartel unfreeze $2.4 million in cryptocurrency.
- To have the freeze on the funds lifted, the SSU general personally contacted the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the National Police, and arranged an in-person meeting with Kravchenko’s first deputy, Mariia Vdovychenko.
- On July 30, 2026, Duka told Andrii "Kryminal" Osipov, an organizer of the criminal group, that agreements had been reached. The money was not returned in time: NABU detectives detained Osipov that same day.
- According to investigators, Duka also provided cover for fraudulent call centers and the U420 chain, influenced law enforcement officers, warned group members of the risk of exposure, and helped them evade prosecution. He arranged secret meetings for Osipov at the SSU and ensured he could move freely during curfew.
