Russia has launched massive attack on energy sector. Many energy facilities in capital region have been damaged, - Ministry of Energy

Overnight, the enemy launched a massive attack on a number of energy facilities in Ukraine.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the Ministry of Energy’s press office.
There are new power cuts
As noted, as a result of the Russian Federation’s strikes, consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions are without power this morning.
"We have extensive damage to transmission and distribution networks. Networks transmitting electricity from nuclear power stations to the capital and central regions of Ukraine have also been damaged. Despite this, energy workers have already managed to restore power supply to some consumers," the statement reads.
Many energy facilities in the capital region have been damaged
It is also noted that Russiahas caused significant damage to many energy facilities in the capital region. This has substantially complicated the transmission of electricity to the capital and the region. Furthermore, electricity supply to a number of neighbouring regions has been restricted.
"It will take time to repair such a large amount of damaged equipment," the Ministry of Energy explained.
Hourly power cuts are in force
In most regions of Ukraine, hourly power cut schedules remain in place today, whilst power restriction schedules are in force for industry. The attacks are continuing, so the power supply situation may change rapidly throughout the day, sometimes even several times an hour.
"Energy workers are doing everything they can, round the clock, to restore electricity to our homes. Repair work is ongoing in all affected regions where the security situation permits. Energy workers are operating at full capacity. The work is being delayed by constant air raid alerts. But as soon as the all-clear is given, the energy workers immediately return to repairing the damaged equipment," the Ministry of Energy added.
