Drone attack on Dnipro: building destroyed, one dead and one injured. PHOTO
On the morning of 8 November, the enemy launched a drone strike on the outskirts of Dnipro.
This was reported on a Telegram channel by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, according to Censor.NET.
Initial details
According to the Regional State Administration, a fire broke out. At least one private house has been destroyed. It is believed that people may be trapped under the rubble.
Hanzha later reported that one person had been killed and another injured as a result of the Russian attack on the residential area of Dnipro.
Clean-up operations following the enemy strike are ongoing at the scene.
Blackout in Dnipro
According to Dnipro’s mayor, Borys Filatov, the city is experiencing another blackout. Unfortunately, this is the second one in the last two weeks.
Fixed resilience centres are currently operational. Mobile centres will also be deployed if necessary.
According to Filatov, all traction substations have lost power, meaning no electric transport is running in the city.
"Additional buses are already being deployed on the routes. The metro is open as a shelter. The sewerage system has also been stabilised as of now. The Left Bank is being powered by generators. There will be water. As for the Right Bank, the power engineers are working on it. Traffic lights at the busiest junctions are powered by batteries. City hospitals have independent power supplies and adequate reserves. Therefore, medical care is continuing uninterrupted. The city is in constant communication with the power companies and the regional administration. Thanks to the heroic efforts of the heating engineers, we are currently trying to ‘restore’ the heating," added the city’s mayor.
What led up to this?
- It was previously reported that the enemy had launched a massive strike on the energy infrastructure of the Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving over 600,000 residents without power.
