Kyiv City Council renames Moskovska Square

In particular, Patrice Lumumba Street will be renamed John Paul II Street (the Pechersk district), Vozziednannia Avenue renamed Sobornosti Avenue (the Pechersk district), Moskovska (Moscow) Square renamed Demiivska Square (the Holosiivskyi district).

The city council members also adopted as a basis a draft decision to rename Pavla Dybenko Street in the Obolonskyi district, Kikvidze Street in the Pechersk district, Kotovskoho Street in the Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts, Pavlik Morozov Street (Obolonskyi district, Vodohin village) Profinterna Street in Holosiivskyi district, Mykoly Skrypnyka Street in Solomianskyi district, Petra Shelesta Street in Desnianskyi district, Bakynskyh Komissariv Alley in the Dniprovskyi district and Shaumiana Alley in Shevchenkivskyi district. The voting for the new names of the streets is planned for the next meeting of the city council.
