Maidan massacre case may be referred to International Criminal Court, - Lutsenko
Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko expects Head of PGO's Special Investigations Department Serhii Horbatiuk to demonstrate progress in the investigation of cases against former government officials involved in the Maidan crimes.
He announced at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny."I expect Horbatiuk to achieve active results in probing actions against humanity [during the Maidan protests - ed.] and so on," he said.
The prosecutor general also expects Horbatiuk to refer the materials of probes in absentia against former government officials to court.
"I think the society is willing to see the performers, the actual killers [of Maidan activists - ed.] and the organizers of those atrocities finally brought to justice. I expect Serhii Horbatiuk and more than 100 of his subordinates to show progress in probing these cases, and I don't exclude that after consultations with the lawyers of the Heavenly Hundreds Heroes, these cases may be referred to the International Criminal Court, which delegation arrives in Ukraine as early as this week," UNIAN news agency quotes Lutsenko as saying.
