Militants’ accomplice apprehended in Sloviansk
Law enforcers apprehended a local resident suspected of collaboration with militants near the town of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region.
Censor.NET reports citing National Police in the Donetsk region.A bus heading to Moscow was stopped for inspection at the checkpoint near the town of Sloviansk. One of the passengers, a local resident born in 1993, turned out to be suspected of collaboration with members of illegal armed groups.
The suspect explained that he decided to make some money in the spring of 2014 when the town was occupied by illegal armed units. He was transporting building materials for militants in his truck.
Due to terrorists' activities in Sloviansk, combat operations in particular, the man subsequently refused to work for the new "masters." He quickly packed and left to the Russian Federation through the Kharkiv region. There he lived until now, visiting his hometown from time to time.
The police are verifying the information on the suspect.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under article 260 (part 2 - creation of illegal armed groups or participation in their activities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man is facing three to eight years of imprisonment.
