Dekanoidze’s resignation was routine, discussed last year, - Interior Minister Avakov

The resignation of Chief of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze was planned and agreed a year ago.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov told a briefing in Boiarka (Kyiv larger area) on Friday, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

Asked by the reporters about the reasons for Dekanoidze's resignation, Avakov said: "It was planned. We have agreed on this a year ago. Her contract expired and she made this decision."

The minister dodged the question on possible pressure put on Dekanoidze in this regard.
