Russia's Federal Security service (FSB) has detained Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh.

In the morning of Dec. 8, FSB agents came to Crimea's Serebrianka village for searches, the Balukh's wife told the group.

The searches lasted for four hours in the homes of Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh and his mother. After that, the activist was detained.

The operatives claim to have found in the attic of Balukh's house 90 rounds of ammunition and several TNT blocks.

Today, a court had to decide on a preventive measure against the activist who is known to be currently held in a temporary detention facility.

Volodymyr Balukh is an activist known for his pro-Ukrainian position. Earlier, the Crimean Human Rights Group reported the homes of Balukh and his relatives had been searched twice. The first search took place in April 2015.

It ended with law enforcers removing a Ukrainian flag from the roof of his house. After the second search, the Ukrainian was accused of insulting police officer Yevgeny Baranov and sentenced to 320 hours of compulsory labor.

On Nov. 29, 2016, he attached a plate on the wall of his house reading 18, Heavenly Hundred Heroes St., after which village head Vitaliy Stepanyuk came threatening to call the police.
