Berlin terror attack might have killed two Ukrainians, - Minister Klimkin

The victims of the terrorist attack in Berlin may include two Ukrainian citizens.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrainska Pravda, this was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin on air of 1+1 TV channel.

Klimkin said the Ukrainian Embassy in Germany is awaiting a DNA test report, after which a 100 percent conclusion can be made on whether two Ukrainian citizens, a man and a woman, became victims of the attack.

As previously reported, a truck ran into a Christmas market in Berlin's Breitscheidplatz on Monday evening, Dec. 19. The incident killed 12 people and wounded around 50. The truck, owned by a Polish transport company, went 80 meters through a crowded pedestrian area at about 40 mph. The police said the alleged truck driver tried to escape from the scene but was apprehended some time later. No details about the suspect have been provided so far.

Several German media outlets report the alleged truck driver arrived in Germany from Pakistan in December 2015. He is said to have been previously registered as an asylum seeker.
