Donetsk filtration station halted, personnel evacuated, - MoD

The Donetsk filtration station has been in the area of massive attacks by Russian occupation forces for two days now. During this period, station's facilities suffered considerable damage.

Censor.NET reports citing the Ministry of Defense press service.

"A shell hit the tank with chlorine. Clean water tanks were hit twice, shells fell near the administrative building and filtration facility. The fragments hit the filtration facility building and damaged window panes and the roof," the message says.

"It is impossible to maintain the work of the Donetsk filtration station under such circumstances, people are hiding in the bomb shelter almost all the time. The management of the company has decided to evacuate the staff and shut down the plant," the press service noted.

The station supplies water to government-controlled Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka and Verkhniotoretske. It also supplies water to occupied Donetsk, Yasynuvata, Vasylivka and Spartak.

According to the local civil-military administration, the city reservoir is filled. Drinking water is being supplied to residents as usual.
