"In Ukraine, many are mistaking democracy for Makhnovism," - Poroshenko
In present-day Ukraine, many are confusing democracy and Makhnovism, the anarchist movement.
President Petro Poroshenko said on Twitter on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1920, Censor.NET reports."The major factor that prevented creation of an independent Ukrainian state back then was a lack of unity, political quarrels, anarchy, and ataman movements... The tradition has not disappeared; in present-day Ukraine, many are confusing democracy and Makhnovism," the head of state wrote.
The president also said that all political parties in Ukraine are the partners in development of independent state.
"Inside the country, I see all political parties as partners in development of the independent, European, and democratic state," he said.
