Court attaches house of State Management of Affairs ex-Chief Tarasiuk

The Pechersk district court of Kyiv attached a house owned by ex-Head of the State Management of Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Tarasiuk.

This is written in the court ruling of March 22, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) requested the court to impound the assets owned by Tarasiuk as a private property, namely a homestead with a house of 1,077.2 square meters in area.

The court has already granted the investigator's petition to freeze the assets of the State Management of Affairs ex-chief earlier. However, the state notary office informed the PGO that this action was impossible since Tarasiuk had transferred ownership of the house to his wife March 6, as followed from the Consolidated State Register of Real Estate Titles and Transactions.

"As it appears from the facts and circumstances of the case, the suspect evicted the house by endowing it to his wife to evade its seizure after he was charged of committing a crime punished by confiscation of property on March 2, 2017," the court ruling reads.

The court accorded prosecution and reattached Tarasiuk's homestead owned by his wife.
