Lying-in-state of killed intelligence officer Shapoval held in Kyiv on Friday

The farewell ceremony is currently underway in Officers' Club in Kyiv's Pechersk district.

On Friday, Kyiv residents and family are saying their last good-byes to killed officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine's Defense Ministry Maksym Shapoval, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

The farewell ceremony is currently underway in Officers' Club in Kyiv's Pechersk district.

Shapoval's family, friends, and colleagues came to pay their respects to the deceased. President Petro Poroshenko and leaders of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine are also expected.

On June 27, head of a special purpose unit of Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine's MoD Maksym Shapoval was killed in explosion of a Mercedes vehicle at Solomianska Street in Kyiv.
