A domestic demining drone ST1, an autonomous drone for searching for mines, is being tested in Ukraine.
This was announced by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Censor.NET reports.
"ST1 is an autonomous drone for searching for mines. It is equipped with an inductance coil and sensors that allow it to fly around obstacles at low altitudes. It also has a powerful microcomputer on board that processes and transmits data to sappers in real time.
On average, ST1 is 4 times faster than a human. This will significantly speed up the process of demining Ukrainian territories and make it safer. For example, sappers of the State Emergency Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the National Police will be able to control a drone from a safe place and search for mines," the statement said.
In addition, Fedorov showed a photo of the finished experimental sample and noted that the developers are actively testing it in the field. The team collects feedback, works on improvements, and prepares to scale production.
