A protest against the Russian propaganda on TV was held near the office of TV channel Inter today.
Students-activists came to the office of 'Inter' to express their indignation on the fact that the channel of Dmytro Firtash and Serhii Liovochkin is actually the Kremlin's weapon against Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
The protesters lined up on both sides of Dmytrivska Street with banners reading: "Make away with Russian propaganda on Ukraine's TV", "Liovochkіn and Fіrtash are Kremlin agents", "Ban the Russian TV series!", "Fіrtash represents the "Russian World" in Ukraine".
The main entrance to the office of 'Inter' was closed during the students' rally. The channel's staff and visitors were coming and going through the back door.
The activists were outraged that the policy of Inter is run by former advisor to Viktor Yanukovych, a citizen of Russia Igor Shuvalov.
The protesters expressed indignation by the fact that former military correspondent of the Russia's propaganda channel Ren TV Maria Stoliarova, whose reports on the events in the Donbas were quite one-sided, works for Inter. "Stoliarova has filmed the project called "I was in the war", which depicted the Ukrainians as murderers, as those who oppress own people... Now she is in charge of the news policy on the Ukrainian TV channel," said one of the activists.
"Maria Stoliarova is Putin's agent on Inter," the activists are convinced.
By the end of the protest the students were involved into a 'sparring between generations' with the two women who were trying to protect the Russian TV series.
