Law enforcement officers detained a Kyiv-based blogger who justified Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and disseminated materials calling for resistance to the Ukrainian authorities.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
As noted, according to the investigation, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the suspect posted videos on his TikTok page justifying and recognising the legitimacy of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.
In the videos, he "called on all viewers of the content not to tolerate 'evil spirits' and lawlessness, to unite, create their own army and resist the 'evil spirits' and 'drive them out of the holy movement'," law enforcement officials said.
The forensic linguistic examination confirmed that these statements were of a propagandistic nature and aimed at justifying and recognising the legitimacy of Russian aggression.
As the SSU Main Directorate in Kyiv and Kyiv Region reported on Facebook, the perpetrator was a 37-year-old Volyn resident who rents a house in the capital and is an ardent supporter of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The man provided information support to the actions of believers and monks of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), which impeded the work of the commission of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. Through social media, he questioned the existence of Ukrainian statehood and posted posts about the Semitic world conspiracy theory.
As noted, he created and administered a network of his own accounts on Facebook, TikTok and VKontakte under the pseudonym 'Skif'. The total audience of the propagandist was almost 20 thousand people.
On his social media pages, the defendant spread Kremlin narratives, including anti-Ukrainian and xenophobic ones.
During a search at the suspect's residence in Obolon district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers found and seized electronic gadgets with evidence of support for Russia's actions.
The indictment against the blogger was sent to court on the facts of disseminating materials calling for a violent change of the constitutional order and justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine (Article 109(2), (3), (2), (3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
