Beach rigged with mines, not a single undamaged building: journalists show embattled Shyrokyne village. PHOTOS
Once a resort village, Shyrokyne, located 15 kilometers east of Mariupol is one of the hottest spots of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The village is completely controlled by the Ukrainian military but almost everything in it - houses, health resorts, infrastructure facilities – have been destroyed in battles and bombardments. The coast is rigged with mines in case of amphibious assault. The positions of Russian mercenaries are located several hundred meters away from the village, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Svoboda.
"We made it to marines’ positions in Shyrokyne by HMMWV," the journalists said.
"There are no undamaged buildings in the village," says the news outlet noting that Shyrokyne has became a ghost village.
