Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov checked the readiness of defense lines during his visit to the zone of the anti-terrorist operation. He participated in the inspection and testing of new fortifications.

According to Oleksandr Turchynov the Russian-terrorist forces may resume offensive any time. "So we must work overtime. The construction of the fortifications should be carried out around the clock," he said, expressing dissatisfaction with the current pace of construction.
In addition, the NSDC secretary visited the main line of defense near the village of Shyrokyne, where the greatest number of attacks by the Russian-terrorist groups was committed despite the Minsk cease-fire deal. The situations with participation of the National Guard and the Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen that took place at the southern direction of defense when they were courageously defending the approaches to Mariupol were discussed together with the ATO and the "M" sector command.
