Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office, an indictment was sent to the court against the military of the Russian Federation for the fact of brutal treatment of the civilian population, combined with intentional killing and other violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press center of the Prosecutor General's Office.

As noted, the investigation established that on March 5, 2022, Russian soldiers of the 173rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and the 137th Guards Parachute Regiment seized a building in the city of Irpin on St. Fedor Krychevskyi. They checked people at the checkpoint on the way out of the city.

"Having captured the objects, the occupiers established fire control over the roadway of Oleg Koshovoy Street. At that time, it was the only road through which it was possible to evacuate the city by transport. The next day, March 6, 2022, at 07:30, civilian residents of "Irpin tried to evacuate the city in their own cars. People pasted letters with the inscriptions "CHILDREN" and "EVACUATION" on them to indicate that these are civilian vehicles," the report said.

The convoy moved along Nezalezhnosti Street and turned onto Oleg Koshovoy Street in the direction of Zhytomyr highway. When the cars reached the "Koshovy" residential complex, the Russian military opened fire on them with grenade launchers and small arms.
