Arms dealers detained in Dnipro and over $5.5m seized from them. PHOTOS

In Dnipro, three men were detained for selling firearms, ammunition and explosives.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, Censor.NET reports.

According to investigators, the suspects illegally stored firearms, ammunition and explosive devices for sale. They did not have permission to do so.

"During the searches, 5,616,800 USD, 45,055 EUR, 268,350 UAH, pistols, assault rifles, ammunition magazines, hand grenade launchers, ammunition of various calibres, grenades, detonators, silencers and various explosives were found and seized from them," the statement said.

The men were taken into custody.

They are suspected of unlawful handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (Article 28(2), Article 263(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The suspects face 3 to 7 years in prison.
