Head of Mariupol Police Main Directorate Serhii Matviichuk said: "We cannot allow Sartana residents to stay face-to-face with their problems now and unscrupulous citizens to take advantage of the situation. A lot of houses have been destroyed, thus there is free access to the property of citizens impacted by the shelling. Therefore, the presence of the police in this area is crucial.
"The reinforced squads of law enforcement officers are already patrolling streets of Sartana and will stay there as long as the situation requires. Another important detail is that there may be unexploded shells in private yards. These munitions pose a potential danger to the residents. We cannot let Sartana residents to be injured after the shelling. Therefore, our officers together with representatives of relevant services examine the village and recommend residents not to move dangerous objects."
