She planted explosives near administrative building of AFU unit in Odesa region: RF agent detained - SSU. PHOTOS
The Security Service of Ukraine thwarted an attempt by Russian special services to commit a bloody terrorist attack in the Odesa region.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press centre.
As noted, SSU officers, having acted proactively, detained a Russian agent who was preparing a simultaneous explosion of the administrative building of the Armed Forces unit and a car parked nearby.
The Ukrainian special service exposed the suspect in advance and secured the scene, which helped to avoid human casualties and neutralise the consequences of the detonation of one of the explosives, which the occupiers remotely activated from Russia.
What do we know about the attacker?
According to the case file, the perpetrator of the terrorist attack was a 21-year-old resident of the frontline town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region, who was remotely recruited by two representatives of the Russian special services.
Following their instructions, the agent arrived in Odesa region and rented an apartment there, where she then made the explosives herself.
"The explosive device was based on plastic explosives, which she took from a previously prepared cache. To maximize the damage, the agent filled it with nuts and used a mobile phone for remote detonation," the statement said.
Detention of the offender
The suspect was detained by SSU CI officers immediately after planting the munitions.
The occupiers promised their accomplice money for committing the terrorist attack, but instead, she was suspected by SSU investigators under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).
The offender is in custody. She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
