Shooting in Obolonskyi district of Kyiv, man wounded, suspect detained. PHOTOS
On Wednesday afternoon, 26 March, in Kyiv, a man shot another resident several times and fled. The wounded man was hospitalised in a serious condition. The suspect in the shooting was detained.
This was reported by the Kyiv police on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
Law enforcers said that at 2:35 p.m., the police received a report that an unknown person had made several shots at a local resident on Yordanska Street and fled the scene.
An investigative team, operatives, and a dog handler with a service dog immediately arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found a 48-year-old man with head injuries; he was taken to the hospital in serious condition. During the inspection of the scene, police discovered spent shell casings.
Police launched a special operation to find the alleged shooter. Later, law enforcement officers found the attacker's car and detained the shooter. He was a 52-year-old resident of Kyiv, and investigative actions are currently underway.
The police added that criminal proceedings over the incident were initiated under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The motives and all the circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated.
