A military official from Kyiv and a private entrepreneur set up an illegal scheme to produce fake medical documents to evade service. They were served a notice of suspicion.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
They offered their clients two options for "exemption" from military service: discharge for health reasons or fictitious enrolment in one of Kyiv's educational institutions with subsequent booking.
The cost of the first option was USD 25 thousand, and the second option was USD 5 thousand. Thus, in June 2024, one of the clients who chose the first option paid USD 7,000 in advance to the dealers, and later, after the start of the paperwork, another USD 10,000.
Law enforcement officers detained the offenders on the last tranche of the bribe. They were served a notice of suspicion of obtaining an illegal benefit (Part 5 Article 27, Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years in prison.
In addition, the investigation found that at least 10 people used the services of evaders who "enrolled" in postgraduate studies.
According to intelligence, employees of one of the TCRSSs in the Chernihiv region were also involved in the scheme.
The investigation is ongoing, new notices of suspicion to other participants in the scheme are being prepared, and information about other "clients" of the defendants is being checked.
