President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the main topics of the meeting of European leaders in Paris were support for Ukraine, maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia and coordinating security initiatives.
This was announced by the head of state in a telegram, Censor.NET reports.
"Strengthening Ukraine, putting pressure on Russia for peace, agreeing on joint security steps - these were the main topics at the meeting of European leaders in Paris. Europe knows exactly how to defend itself, and we are working together to guarantee our country and all European nations more security," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, France has prepared a new €2 billion defence package, which includes the supply of weapons and military equipment. The leaders also agreed that sanctions against Russia should remain in place as long as the war continues.
The President said that military representatives of the countries that are ready to take further security steps will hold meetings to agree on the details. A decision was also made on new investments by partners in the production of defence equipment in Ukraine.
The effectiveness of the so-called "Danish model" of cooperation in the production of drones and other weapons, which will allow Ukraine to significantly increase its military potential, was also noted.
Reportedly, the meeting in Paris also discussed the possibility of deploying an international guarantee force in Ukraine to strengthen security.
