Today, victory for us lies in preserving our nation and independence - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed how he sees Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia.
According to Censor.NET, he said this in an interview with Le Figaro.
"We will never give up our occupied territories to Russia. These lands belong to Ukrainians. When will we get them back? Probably not immediately. It may have to be done through diplomacy. Diplomacy causes fewer casualties, it causes fewer losses than weapons," the head of state explained.
Zelenskyy emphasized that it is difficult to talk about victory in the midst of war because every Ukrainian family has lost someone or something.
"Only history books can tell us about the real victory. For the families, those who lost their sons, brothers, husbands, the only real victory would be to bring them home. But this is impossible.
"Today's victory for us is about preserving our nation, our independence. It is about the freedom not to belong to Russia or its way of seeing the world. For us, freedom is not just a word. We want to be able to decide how to live, with whom to live, whom to love. These are simple words, but they relate to our right to live the way we want," the president added.
