Russia is setting additional conditions for truce in Black Sea – Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy talks about Russia’s demands for a ceasefire in the Black Sea

President Zelenskyy said that Moscow is trying to impose its own conditions into the Black Sea truce agreement.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday, March 26, Interfax-Ukraine reports, Censor.NET informs.

"As for the Black Sea, the situation is more complicated. Moscow is trying to impose some additional conditions on the agreement, which has no preconditions. Therefore, we expect the American side to ensure unconditional silence at sea," the President of Ukraine said.

Zelenskyy added that Russia wants this war to continue, so it is necessary to continue to put pressure on Moscow to force it to peace.

"Now is definitely not the time to reduce pressure on Russia or weaken our unity for peace. We need stronger joint steps for the sake of peace... Sanctions against Russia must remain in place and be strengthened. As long as the Russian occupation continues. Every Russian strike, every attempt by Russians to prolong the war requires a response," the Head of State said.

As a reminder, following the talks with the United States in Saudi Arabia, Russia put forward a number of demands to lift sanctions in order to declare a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
