On the morning of 18 April, Russian invaders launched a missile attack on a densely populated area of Kharkiv.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Four strikes were recorded in the city. One hit a multi-storey building.
"Kharkiv was hit by ballistic missiles with cluster munitions. That is why the damage areas are very large. One person was killed. There is a child among the victims," Terekhov said.
The Russian strike damaged 15 apartment buildings. An inspection of the affected area is underway.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the number of people injured in the morning rocket attacks on Kharkiv has increased to 24. Among the victims are two children: 4 years old and 2.8 years old.
As of 6:35 a.m., the number of injured had risen to 26, Terekhov said.

"The number of victims of the rocket attack on Kharkiv has increased to 40 people. One of them is dead.
Specialised services are continuing to eliminate the consequences of enemy strikes at the site of the hits," said Syniehubov.
At 7:10 a.m., Terekhov reported that the number of wounded as a result of the morning rocket attack on Kharkiv had increased to 54.
13 people were hospitalised in city hospitals, including two children. Four people are in serious condition.
At 8:10 a.m., the State Emergency Service reported that the number of casualties had increased to 57, including 5 children.
"More than 60 people have been injured in the morning shelling of Kharkiv," Terekhov said at 8:36 a.m.
"A 79-year-old man who was in his apartment during the shelling was killed. 59 people were injured and suffered acute shock. Among the victims are four girls aged 3, 4, 14 and 16, as well as a 17-year-old boy.
It has been preliminarily established that the Russian army used three "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles on the city," the regional prosecutor's office said.
"The number of wounded as a result of the morning shelling of the city has increased to 74," Terekhov said at 9:49 a.m.
As of 11:30 a.m., 87 people were injured in the rocket attack, including six children, Syniehubov said.
17 people were hospitalised in city hospitals. Among those under medical supervision are a 4-year-old girl, a 1-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. Three of the victims are currently in a very serious condition.
Windows and doors in 20 apartment buildings in the Osnovianskyi district were damaged. 25 cars were damaged.
The number of casualties keeps growing, Terekhov said at 12:40 p.m. Already 98 civilians have been injured in the morning shelling of Kharkiv.
At 4 :40 p. m. Terekhov reported that the number of victims of today's shelling increased again to 103. Eight of them are children.
"The number of injured has increased again. There are now 112 victims, including eight children," the mayor said at 7:20 p.m.

Later, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that the number of children injured in the morning missile strike had risen to nine.
"A 12-year-old boy who was wounded in this morning’s terrorist attack on Kharkiv has just been hospitalized. That brings the total number of injured children to nine," the mayor wrote at 7:51 p.m.
As of now, the total number of injured in the Russian attack has risen to 113.
