Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has announced the official closure of Ukraine's militia.

Censor.NET reports citing his Facebook.

"Well, it's over.. There will be a transition period. There will be a few months of assessment of personnel changes, and the old uniform will be coming in view every now and then. But it's over! Militia ceases to exist. From 8 a.m., the National Police of Ukraine and the law come into force. Good luck!" he wrote.
