Russians are being prepared for idea that repression and restrictions are here to stay, – CCD. PHOTO

The Federation Council of the Russian Federation has warned Russians that "wartime laws" will remain in place even after the war ends. According to the senators, the restrictions will only be lifted if they cease to be "relevant".

This is reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation, as reported by Censor.NET.

This concerns regulations adopted after the start of full-scale war: tighter control over the internet, criminal liability for "discrediting" the army, and the expansion of the powers of law enforcement agencies.

Initially, these measures were presented as necessary and temporary, dictated by the need to "ensure security", but now the Russian authorities are effectively admitting that Russians will have to live under strict restrictions and bans forever, the CCD writes.

"The war has become a convenient pretext for a sharp tightening of control across all spheres of Russian life. And now the dictatorship is becoming entrenched as part of everyday reality. All ‘war-time’ restrictions serve the primary goal of making society as controllable and dependent on the state as possible," the Centre for Countering Disinformation reported.
