President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has appointed Lieutenant-General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Allerov Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"I want to sign the decree on the appointment of Yurii Allerov Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine," Poroshenko said in Kharkiv on Wednesday night and signed the appointment decree.

"This general was behind the creation of the National Guard and sent to the Armed Forces afterwards. I saw his patriotism," the president assured.
