Nazar Holiuk, Aidar battalion soldier from Netishyn, was killed by a sniper in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area near Horlivka on Jan. 1, 2016. The bullet hit his heart.

Censor.NET reports citing "Netishyn Self-Defense" website.

"The country is celebrating the New Year. TV channels report soothing news from the frontline - no casualties. But the war is knocking on our doors.

"We express our deepest sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased," the message reads.
